Welcome to the Desert Shadows Middle School website, proud home of the Diamondbacks. We are one of 10 schools in the Nogales Unified School District located in Nogales, Arizona. You’ll find us about an hour south of Tucson.

Our school serves students in the 6th through 8th grades. Our teachers are dedicated to the students in their care and set high standards for continued growth. We are proud to offer many activities for students here on campus and can boast small class sizes. We feel that everyone succeeds in an environment where each student receives individual attention.

A Message from our Principal

Dear Parents, Teachers, Staff, and Students,

Education is always at the forefront of a community’s concerns. Parents want their child to receive a quality education, teachers want the support to be able to provide that quality, and students want to have fun learning. Desert Shadows Middle School is doing a fantastic job in these areas. We expect our students to strive for their personal best, and we expect no less of ourselves as educators and mentors.

I am honored to be part of such a large and dynamic middle school and look forward to working with our highly qualified faculty and staff as well as supportive and involved parents. I know that with our continued commitment to the students in our community, we will be able to fulfill the promise of our motto and help children “live to learn and learn to live.”

If you ever have a question or concern for our office, don’t hesitate to give us a call. We promise to help you quickly and efficiently.

All the Best,

Joan Molera
